Pretend Play

Pretend Play

One part of being a kid is wanting to mimic the older crowd in the home. They want to be just like us. Children are sponges, we need to encourage positive actions and lead by example. We do our best and nothing hurts more than to not be able to let your children help cook when they want to or do laundry. We don’t let them, because they may hurt them selves and we would never live with that.

In today’s world of toys, there are a lot of pretend play for our younger generation. These toys allow your children to grown and be just like us, in their own way and time. There are toys today that are just like any and every home appliance that we as grown ups have in our homes. Even the roughest of children will have a hard time destroying some of these products five minutes after removing from the box.

Pretend play is also a large part of preschool curriculum these days. This helps to teach our children proper ways to handle different materials in their day to day life. They learn so much playing with pretend play toys and don’t even realize it.

As any other parent, I also enjoy my quiet time and pretend play toys provide hours full of fun for our kiddos. Little kitchens to feed our baby doll family or tools to help daddy on the outdoor weekend projects allow then to stay safe while pretending to be mommy or daddy. Healthy use of their imagination is of great assistance to the adult your child will become.
